about us

ViennaLab, founded 1990, develops and manufactures products for medical in-vitro diagnostics in the field of genetic diseases and predispositions.

The current focus is on cardiovascular diseases and inherited disorders of iron metabolism (haemochromatosis). The range of products also includes Thalassemia, Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF), Gaucher Disease, Alzheimer and Pharmacogenetics.

ViennaLab´s goals are to identify promising diagnostic tests at an early stage, perform product development efficiently using proven expertise and experience, and market novel products internationally in close collaboration with highly committed distributing partners.

External proposals for research projects (epidemiology, identification of phenotype-related SNPs) and / or assay development are welcome and will be carefully discussed and evaluated regarding their feasibility and market potential.

ViennaLab is currently conducting an international survey on genetic testing of iron overload (haemochromatosis). To participate, please go to "links".

In 2001, ViennaLab and Hoffmann-La Roche signed an Agreement granting ViennaLab worldwide, non-exclusive rights to manufacture and sell PCR-based diagnostic tests.
